A buddy of mine, Chris, over at Chris's Gaming Journal, recently decided we were going to get into gaming Flintloque. I have had a love for these miniatures since I was about 16/17, but unfortunately have never had the opportunity to start collecting them (for one reason or another) But when Chris suggested it, well, how could I refuse???
So, a couple of bids went in for a some auctions on eBay, and an order was submitted to Alternative Armies after a few emails with Gavin Syme, who was most helpful. The service from AA was impressive.
As soon as the figures arrived, I was hooked, and wanted more, and I hadn't even started painting them yet!!! The figures have real character, and a certain charm about them. I couldn't wait to get cracking.
I've always been more of a collector, than a gamer, and I can certainly see my collection growing at an exponential rate with these. Even if I do have approximately 2500 1:72 plastic figures to paint! lol
So, I thought I would share my initial paint jobs with you (my photography skills aren't the best, and the iPhone really is poor for photgraphing miniatures. My phone contract is ending soon, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up a phone with a really good camera!)
We have, a Joccian Highland rat, an Orc of the 45th, a Chasseur of the Garde, some Rifleorcs, and a few Rifleorc characters: Major Dunknowit, Captain Murkie, and Captain Fredorcson (based on the characters from the Sharpe books, Major Dunnett, Cpt Murray, and Cpt Frederickson
This should be the first of many Flintloque posts, so I hopefully I will see you soon! :-D

Miniature Wargames Auctions
Hi all,
Not sure if anyone is aware of this yet:
There's a new miniatures auction site being set up very soon, allowing us gamers/painters/collectors to buy/sell gaming goodies. They're called Miniature Bids, and they can be checked out here:
https://www.facebook.com/miniaturebids?ref=ts&fref=ts
or here
http://miniaturebids.com/
Apparently there will be no fees, unless we use Paypal for payments. So yeah, check it out! :-) (Disclaimer: I have no involvement with this site whatsoever, I am merely an expectant Wargames Hobbyist hoping for the best for the site. Feel free to pass the info on to as many like minded individuals as possible!) :-D

A Few Odds and Ends
Hi all!
I've had a couple of days off work and have been doing some test figures for different periods, and also finishing off my first unit of French Foreign Legion. Useful for any number of game systems I guess: Black Powder, The Sword and the Flame to name a few!
First up, a British Napoleonic Officer (figure is from Waterloo 1815, 1:72 scale):
Next up, some Colonial British. I've been experimenting with some spare figures I had lying around, painted, from left to right, British Infantry in Indian Khaki, Private soldier and Officer in grey serge in the Sudan, and a Private Soldier from the North West Frontier (I personally love the Khaki jacket with blue trousers!) [all figures are from Esci, 1:72 scale]
And individual close ups:
I also picked up some figures from Victoria Miniatures as a start for a VSF/GW Praetorian project. This is Captain Kaine:
And for the group that I am really pleased with, the French Foreign Legion (Esci figures, 1:72 scale)
Thanks for looking.

DBA Imperial Romans
I have had these painted for some time, and they have seen a few battles, but it was a fleeting relationship with 15mm as I much prefer 1:72 plastics, although strangely, despite all the options available, I don't own a single Roman Legionnaire in that scale! Ah well, that can be rectified! lol These, as far as I can remember, are Freikorp 15s!
Anyway, a few shots of my Roman Army painted and based for DBA:
The painting is pretty basic, but still to a decent standard. I was happy with the result, anyway! :-)
As they are surplus to requirements, they can be found here:

American War of Rebellion
Howdy folks!
I recently purchased some AWI Foundry figures, just out of a desire to have a go at painting them really, not for any other reason. I think they turned out ok. Hope you enjoy seeing them :-)
Thanks a lot for looking!
These are available to purchase, here: Ebay Auction

Saga Normans and Vikings
Howdy all!
Plastic Normans and Vikings from Strelets and and Zvezda. Initially painted for Saga, but could easily be used for Warhammer Ancients at a later date when I've added some more to them!
First up, the Normans:
And the Vikings:
