Sikh War Project: Beginnings.

There seems to be somewhat of a trend running here, that being that I only seem to post once a year! I really must rectify that.

I've been working quite a few projects over the intervening months, with my main one now being one I started a couple of months ago: The 1st Anglo Sikh War using Black Powder. Just for Mudki (Moodkee) alone, I'll need approximately 13 "British" Infantry regiments, 6 cavalry, and 10 artillery batteries. So I certainly have a long way to go!

I'm using Newline Designs' 1:72 Sikh War range for this project. There are still some figures missing, such a Bengal Light Cavalry, Gurkhas, command for the British Dragoons, but there are enough there to be able to play some games. Plus the prices are great!!!!

First up for the British are some Generals, Her Majesty's 16th Lancers, 50th and 80th Regiments, 24th and 26th Bengal Native Infantry and a battery each of Bengal Horse and Field Artillery:

And then some Sikh Fauj-i-ain and some musket armed irregulars:

I'm slowly adding more as each week passes and hope to have enough for a game done in about 2 or  3 months.

Crimean War Project

One of my years projects was to be Black Powder Crimean War, at 1:72 scale. I've made a fairly decent start so far, amongst other things, and have the majority of the figures I'll need just waiting to be painted, but unfortunately, it's going to have to take a back seat for the time being. (Reasons will most likely be on an up coming post)

Anyway, the start that I have made can be seen below, and if I get chance to paint any more, I'll keep you all posted. Figures are all Strelets, bar the Guards officer on General Benticks command base.

Napoleonic Rifles

Hi all,

Following a little challenge on the Black Powder page on Facebook, I was able to get some more British Rifles painted up. From one box of figures, I've got enough to field 5 small rifle armed skirmish units for BP now, which is nice! :-D

Figures are Revell 1:72 plastics

Hail Caesar Assyrian Division

Howdy all!

I've been working on my Assyrian troops for Hail Caesar, amongst other projects, and managed to finish off my first division. Well, I say finished, I'll still probably end up doing some skirmishers and another light infantry unit, but for all intents and purposes, they will suit quite well.

I've been trying to identify the 2 metal figures used for the commander and his guard. I've checked Newline and Irregular, but I cannot for the life of me identify them. If anyone recognises them, please help, as they are a near perfect match and would add some more variation to my armies.

Additionally, if anyone can make any suggestions to painting the reed shields of the light infantry better, I would really appreciate it.
