Lord of the Rings painting, part 2
Following on from an earlier post: High Elves , showing some of my LOTR High Elves, I've managed to get a few odds and ends photographed from my LOTR collection. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and other personal responsibilities, I'm having to get rid of all of my figures from the LOTR world. These are all up for sale, along with a considerable amount of unpainted miniatures, but I thought I would show some photos here before they go:
Halbarad
Prince Imrahil
King of the Dead
Aragorn
Duinhir
Beregond
Faramir
Minas Tirith Standard #1
Minas Tirith Standard #2
The Grey Company
Dwarf Captain
Sauron
Balin

LOTR Dwarves
Like many of us, I anticipated I would have the time to complete a force for the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game by Games Workshop. I managed to get a few figures painted, nothing spectacular, but I have had to admit defeat and give up this particular project (I do still have Elves, Easterlings, and Moria Goblins to do, so it's no major loss really!) :-D
Anyway, just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of the ones that I did get around to painting
First up, a selection of archers. The flash made these look more orange than they actually are!!! :-O
And a small unit of Khazad Guard:
It's a shame really, as these are really great sculpts. Some of the best from GW if you ask me. But I have just have far too much else to paint, and so they must go!
If you want to purchase any of the figures I'm getting rid of, they can be found here, on eBay:

Conquest and Fireforge Comparison
In response to question posted on The Miniatures Page, here are the latest offerings from Fireforge (right) and Conquest Games (left) in a comparison shot. On closer inspection, the Conquest are smaller than the Fireforge, but if you use the Normans as "lighter" cavalry than the Teutonic Knights, they should be fine.
Coincidentally, I'm using the Conquest Normans as cavalry for the men of Dale for LOTR, and the Fireforge are being used as my 3rd edition Warhammer Fantasy army (Chevalier d'Honneur to be exact!)

LOTR SBG High Elves
The complete force:
We have a mini tournament this weekend at the local Games Workshop here in Brum. I've put together a 500 point High Elf force for the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, using the new Warband organization.

Glorfindel (Armour of Gondolin), 2 Spearmen with shield, 5 swordsmen with Elven blade:

Haldir (armour and Elf bow), 2 Galadhrim with Elf bow, 5 Galadhrim with Elven blade
Gildor, 3 High Elves with Elven bow, and 3 High Elves with Elven blade:
I'm looking forward to the tourney, as this will be my first "competitive" event, but I'm going just for the fact that I get to play LOTR: SBG! Good times!

LOTR: Numenoreans and the Witch King
It's been a fair bit of time since my last post. I've been frantically painting away, trying to reduce the lead and plastic pile. I've managed to get quite a lot of painting completed, but nothing based yet. I really don't like basing! lol. In the interim, here are a few GW LOTR figures I painted ages ago:

Another figure I finished some time ago, this time, the Witch King of Angmar. It didn't quite turn out how I wanted to, but it's better than some things I've painted! :-)
