Hail Caesar Assyrian Division

Howdy all!

I've been working on my Assyrian troops for Hail Caesar, amongst other projects, and managed to finish off my first division. Well, I say finished, I'll still probably end up doing some skirmishers and another light infantry unit, but for all intents and purposes, they will suit quite well.

I've been trying to identify the 2 metal figures used for the commander and his guard. I've checked Newline and Irregular, but I cannot for the life of me identify them. If anyone recognises them, please help, as they are a near perfect match and would add some more variation to my armies.

Additionally, if anyone can make any suggestions to painting the reed shields of the light infantry better, I would really appreciate it.

Mantic Dwarves - The beginning

Despite my best efforts to not start anything new, and to try and concentrate on finishing off existing projects, I picked up a few of Mantics Dwarves and Elves dirt cheap recently. I've had the free, downloadable rules for some time now, and despite them really appealing to me (Warhammer the way Warhammer should be, to me anyway) I've never gotten around to doing anything with them. Until now.

And so here is the start of my Dwarves: Ironguard and a Warsmith (apologies for the poor photography on the Warsmith) I tried to paint a hammer design on the shields, but they just didn't turn out how I wanted. Ah well, better luck on the next batch!

Slaughterloo Light Infantry

Hi all

Second post of the day. I'm on a roll! lol

Up next are some more Slaughterloo figures. With another battle looming on the horizon, Wheeling Turn has called in for some reinforcements. Advancing their way to the front are the Orcs of the Light Company of the 38th Regiment (1st Stuffedshire). The rest of the regiment are lingering some way behind, and wont be prepared for the battle in time, but still, additional light troops will be most advantageous:

I also managed to finish another character figure, this time in the form of Deserter General Obidiah, which has left me wanting to put some units together for a Deserter Army!!

So there we go. I'm going to try and get some more stuff painted up before I get married in 8 weeks, so hopefully there will be a couple more posts between now and then.

Assyrians

Hi all,

My first post of the day details the start of my Assyrian army for Hail Caesar. I've had loads of these figures lying around for a few years now, and I'm only just getting around to painting them! The plan is to do an Assyrian army and an opposing Baylonian one, with Scythian and Arab allies. But we'll see how we go.

Anyway, this is my first unit of Kisir Sharutti, or Assyrian medium infantry, as per the games rules:

I chose to model the archers seperate so that I can use them on their own if ever I need to for whatever reason, and because I think 2 ranks of spearmen looks more imposing. But that's just my choice :-)

Hope you enjoy
