Despite my best efforts to not start anything new, and to try and concentrate on finishing off existing projects, I picked up a few of Mantics Dwarves and Elves dirt cheap recently. I've had the free, downloadable rules for some time now, and despite them really appealing to me (Warhammer the way Warhammer should be, to me anyway) I've never gotten around to doing anything with them. Until now.
And so here is the start of my Dwarves: Ironguard and a Warsmith (apologies for the poor photography on the Warsmith) I tried to paint a hammer design on the shields, but they just didn't turn out how I wanted. Ah well, better luck on the next batch!
Thanks again for looking

Like the black and white colour scheme on these, and I don't think the shield design looks as bad as you think it does.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of Mantic's dwarves from the dwarf kings hold games, and something about the style doesn't quite fit right with me, on the whole I'm not that keen on them. That is except the warsmith and berserker lord, who are both great and have been added to my warhammer dwarf army
I know what you mean. They certainly are marmite figures. But I love them, and can't wait to paint more of them :-)
DeleteThey certainly look very imposing and solid fighters. I think you are not alone in changing interests for projects - something inherent to the hobby, I suspect. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to focus, but there are just so many interesting projects to engage in! :-D lol
DeleteSo it begins! The shields are great mate keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCheers Simon.
